Planning for the Second Half of 2026

Is Your Business Still on Track?

The halfway point of the year offers a valuable opportunity to pause and take stock of your business. Many entrepreneurs begin the year with clear goals and priorities. Six months later, some of those goals may be well underway, while others may have shifted as circumstances changed. That's completely normal. A business plan is not a document that sits on a shelf. It should evolve as your business grows and new opportunities emerge. A mid-year review can help you identify what's working, where adjustments are needed, and how to make the most of the months ahead.

Five Simple Steps for A Mid-Year Review

1. Start By Reviewing Your Original Goals

Look back at the goals you set at the beginning of the year. • Which goals have you achieved? • Which goals are still in progress? • Which goals no longer align with your priorities? Taking inventory of your progress provides a clearer picture of where your business stands today.

2. Look at the Numbers

Review key performance indicators that matter most to your business. This could include: • Revenue and sales trends • Customer growth • Marketing results • Cash flow • New products or services launched The goal isn't to focus on perfection. It's to understand what the numbers are telling you.

3. Identify What's Working

Every business has activities that generate strong results. Take note of the strategies, products, services, or marketing efforts that have contributed to your success so far this year. These may be areas worth expanding during the second half of the year.

4. Adjust Where Needed

If something isn't producing the results you expected, don't be afraid to change course. Successful business owners regularly evaluate their plans and make adjustments based on what they learn. A revised goal is often more valuable than continuing to pursue a plan that no longer fits your needs.

5. Create a Focused Plan for the Month

Rather than adding more to your to-do list, focus on a few priorities that will have the greatest impact. Ask yourself: • What is the most important outcome I want to achieve this year? • What activities will help me reach that goal? • What can I stop doing to create more time and focus?
